The Las Vegas Minister Creates The Newest Wedding Addition That May Be The Next Big Thing For Your C
As a wedding minister in Las Vegas, there are many wedding additions like the unity candle, sand ceremony, or now the ever popular love letter & wine box ceremony to choose from. I have had this idea in the back of my mind for the longest time, I just wasn’t sure how I would implement it. After my cousin asked that I perform his ceremony, I knew it would be the perfect time to try it out.
Before the wedding I ask all of the guests to write a special message to the couple. It can be anything from best wishes to what makes them the perfect couple for each other. Afterwards all of the messages are rolled up and put inside of a decorated bottle to match their color scheme.
During the wedding ceremony the bottle is presented to the couple and are told that they should select a number of messages to remove each year on their anniversary. They may then read those messages and reflect on their wedding day and look forward to the days in the future together.
Following the presentation of the bottle, there is a poem to read:
"Today I wrote a message And I tossed it out to sea. Secret thoughts and feelings bottled up inside of me. Romantic echoes within my heart, words written with the mind, my ever burning passion for you I’ve kept inside. This is my message in a bottle tossed in the ocean for you, in hopes that one day you would find it and make both our wishes come true. If I could save time in this bottle, the first thing that I'd like to do, is to save every day ‘till eternity passes, just to spend them with you. If I could make days last forever; if words could make wishes come true; I'd save every day like a treasure and then, again, I would spend them with you. If I had a box just for wishes, and dreams that had never come true; the box would be empty, except for the memory of how they were answered by you. But there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them. I've looked around enough to know that you're the one I want to go through time with. This is my message in a bottle tossed in the ocean for you, and on that day you found it, you made all my wishes come true."
I am very happy how this turned out, and my cousin and all of his guests seemed to love the addition as well. I really hope this can take off so that other couples can experience it for themselves. It really makes a great keepsake to display in your home and would be a wonderful conversation piece while entertaining your friends over for game night.
